Having transitioned from industrial field to the world of scaffolding and weather protection, ABAB’s new designer, Ali Aghili, enjoys solving technical challenges to support clients’ success. – It is highly rewarding to know that my work directly contributes to construction projects progressing productively, safely and with high quality, he says.
ABAB is now investing significantly more in the design of its scaffolding and weather protection projects. The aim is to provide customers with innovative solutions tailored precisely to their individual needs—while strengthening the company’s position as a market leader.
– We combine the Telinekataja Group’s extensive international experience with strong local insight in Sweden, enabling us to serve our customers with higher quality and greater versatility than ever before, says ABAB’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Roger Sellgren.
– Strengthening our design capabilities is a strategic choice for us. We are committed to making our customers’ projects more straightforward, efficient and successful. Our goal is to build partnership and long-term value, adds Technical Manager Rikard Björk.
Designing scaffolding, weather protection and other temporary structures requires strong analytical skills, a good grasp of structural engineering and the ability to manage complex challenges.
In August 2025, Ali Aghili, a civil engineering M.Sc., stepped into this role at ABAB. Before joining, he worked as a structural engineer in the industrial sector, particularly with projects such as paper mills, sewage treatment plants and other manufacturing projects.
– My previous experience supports my new role both concretely and extensively. Seven years in the industry have also given me a strong understanding of what client’s value—clear communication, staying within timeframe and budget, and delivering safe, high-quality solutions, Aghili explains.
– I plan to leverage all of my experience here at ABAB to contribute to our technical department and strengthen our company’s position in the Swedish market, he adds.
Experience brings insight. – My past years in the industry have given me a strong understanding of what customers value, says Ali Aghili.
Scaffolding and weather protection require many different skills. – At ABAB everyone has their own responsibilities, but we work tightly together as one team.
At age of 32 Aghili describes himself as calm, curious and detail-oriented—a person who enjoys learning new things and finding smart, practical solutions for technical problems.
– I’ve been interested in numbers and construction since childhood, which naturally led me to study civil engineering. My interest in the construction field has only grown over the years. I decided to apply to ABAB because the scaffolding sector seemed promising and full of new challenges, he says.
And the first months have indeed been inspiring. Skilled colleagues have further boosted his motivation.
– I’m determined to learn everything required about scaffolding and weather protection—and a little extra on top, he says smiling.
One of the aspects Aghili finds most engaging in his new role is that it’s far more than creating drawings, running calculations and solving technical challenges at the office.
– I get to work directly with a wide range of customers and be part of daily life on construction sites. It’s extremely motivating to see that our work produces tangible, meaningful value—safety and productivity for the sites, he says.
The strong sense of community within ABAB has also made a deep impression.
– It’s been great to see how strong our internal team spirit is. Everyone has their own area of responsibility, but we work closely together and see one another daily. Being surrounded by experienced scaffolding professionals is not only helpful but truly inspiring.
And even though the work is serious, the atmosphere remains relaxed and fun.
– I enjoy working with people I can trust and who bring positive energy around them, he adds.
Aghili says he has been welcomed extremely warmly at ABAB.
– This has proven to be an open and genuinely pleasant workplace. Already during my second week, I had the chance to join our parent company Telinekataja’s 60th anniversary celebration in Finland. People made me feel welcome there as well, and I am thankful for that.
He believes colleagues play a major role in how one experiences their work.
– A good atmosphere gives confidence, encourages creativity and supports our shared success.
Outside work, Aghili channels his determination into martial arts—and enjoys traveling to warm destinations.
– I practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Training helps me unwind and recover from work. My long-term and very optimistic goal is to earn a black belt someday. We will see how that goes, he adds with a laugh.
– I generally believe in consistent effort—small choices every day can lead to great achievements over time.
– Traveling is also close to my heart. I love discovering new places and cultures. Ideally somewhere with coconuts, palm trees, good food—and above all, stunning beaches, he sums up smiling.
